Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury’s (SVWC) Art Committee is pleased to announce the latest exhibit in Lawrence Gallery which is part of a collection from Project HOPE. “Shanghai Through a Child’s Eye” is a display of 35 paintings and drawings by youngsters, from the collection of 900 pieces owned by Project HOPE.
In 1998, the Shanghai Children’s Medical Center opened. Project HOPE’s role was the building design and construction, securing state-of-the-art equipment, and training the medical and nursing/support staff. Project HOPE held an art contest seeking pictures from children who had received treatment at the Medical Center.
The colorful artwork will be on display at SVWC from Nov. 17 - Jan. 3, 2018. An opening reception takes place on Friday, November 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The public is welcome to come and see this imaginative display any day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. All pieces are on sale for $100 each, and proceeds go to Project HOPE.
