A Connection to Community
Being Connected for Life starts with the community itself. In 2017, Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury celebrated 30 years of service to our residents and the greater Winchester community. The original cornerstone for SVWC was laid on October 13, 1985, and the first apartments were opened to residents two years later, in 1987. Over the last quarter-century, the community has steadily expanded its outreach and breadth of services.
A Connection to Security and Peace of Mind
As a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), SVWC offers residents a connection to ongoing health care in one familiar location. Here, residents enjoy independent living, all the while knowing that, should it become necessary, they have immediate access to advanced care in assisted living, the Health Center or our memory support neighborhood.
Our connection to residents is further exemplified by the SVWC Fellowship Fund, which provides confidential financial assistance to qualified residents so they can continue to live here in dignity even in times of financial hardship.
